About us

The base is back.

Mia Bazo started life as a travel-tech company, took a detour through Voyage Manager, and is now home again — bigger, broader and slightly cheekier.

What's in a name?

Mia Bazo is Esperanto for my base. Esperanto was invented to help people understand each other; we build software for roughly the same reason. A base is where you keep the things that matter and where you come back to when the day gets weird. That's what we want our products to be: the dependable home base for your money, your data, your conversations and your downtime.

A short history of coming home

The first Mia Bazo helped frequent travellers wrangle tax compliance, visas and travel tracking. That work was folded into Voyage Manager, and the Mia Bazo name went quiet for a while. It never stopped being a good name, though — so we brought it back as the home for everything we build now.

Today the Mia family covers accounting, analytics, food bank operations, spam-free communication, customer relationships and marketing, with media and games on the way. Different products, same DNA: lean, honest, built by people who use them.

How we work

Our roots are Scandinavian, and it shows. The organisation is as flat as we can make it. We prioritise autonomy, creativity, fairness, continual feedback, consensus, respect and inclusion — and our definition of diversity spans ethnicities, social backgrounds, sexual orientation, gender, age groups and neurodivergence.

  • Best-possible software. If it doesn't improve a customer's life, it doesn't ship.
  • ESG for real. Environmental, Social and Governance principles guide decisions, not just decks.
  • Cheeky by default. Our writing style is cheeky because, well, John and Laurence.

Where we are

Cambridge, United Kingdom — though like any good base, we're reachable from anywhere: info@miabazo.com.
