There's a dirty secret in business software: a lot of it is designed to impress the person who signs the cheque, not the person who has to use it every day.
That's how you end up with forty tabs, a "modules" pricing page, and a mandatory two-week onboarding call.
Our test
Before we build a feature, we ask one question: would we put up with this? If the answer is no, we don't ship it. It's not a sophisticated methodology. It works surprisingly well.
- Mia Accounting exists because we got tired of bloated, expensive suites.
- Mia Relay exists because we were drowning in spam calls.
- Mia Food Bank exists because food banks deserve better than NetSuite.
Annoyance, it turns out, is an excellent product manager.
